About Boquete

Boquete is a small and beautiful town in the province of Chiriqui,Panama, located in a valley surrounded by towering mountains of the Cordillera Central. Altitude 1000 - 2800 m. Has an area of ​​488.4 km2 and a population about 20,000. This district is known for having a temperate climate, unlike much of the country, because the district is based in the Cordillera Central. Its capital is the town of Bajo Boquete. 

This place is one of the newest and most vibrant tourist destinations in the country with a huge abundance of natural resources such asmountains covered in primary and secondary forests, an important anddiverse fauna, singing brooks and streams of waters, rushing rivers, a majestic volcano, national parks and 
forest reserves.    





The district economy is based on agriculture, livestock and tourism, the latter being the most important in recent years. Their agriculture is based on the coffee industry (the largest in the country), growing vegetables, citrus and flowers (orchids highlighting).
